Lil Baby Joins George Floyd’s Family At The White House On The One-Year Anniversary His Passing To Push For Police Reform – The Shade Room

Roommates, as people all around the world are acknowledging the one-year anniversary of the tragic death of George Floyd, one of the most important calls to action involve continuing to push for police reform—and rapper Lil Baby was on hand to do so. Lil Baby joined George Floyd’s family at the White House, as they collectively showed support for nationwide police reform and the hopeful passing of the George Floyd Policing Act.

During a press conference led by George Floyd family attorney Benjamin Crump, Lil Baby joined along with Crump and other members of Floyd’s family in the push to pass the George Floyd Policing Act, which has already passed through the House of Representatives.

You’ll recall that Lil Baby has joined the Floyd family in the past, as he previously threw a birthday party at Atlanta’s Pink Hotel for George Floyd’s young daughter Gianna. Before they were accompanied by Lil Baby, the Floyd family met with President Joe Biden.

Philonise Floyd, George Floyd’s brother, described the meeting as a “great” one. He also added that Biden is “a genuine guy, [that] always speak from the heart. We’re just thankful for what’s going on and we just want the George Floyd Policing Act to be passed.”

As we previously reported, although the George Floyd Justice In Policing Act has already passed through the House, President Biden spent a portion of his address urging the legislation to be passed by the Senate, making it official.

“My fellow Americans, we have to come together to rebuild trust between law enforcement and the people they serve, to root out systemic racism in our criminal justice system and to enact police reform in George Floyd’s name that passed the House already…we need to work together to find a consensus, but let’s get it done next month by the first anniversary of George Floyd’s death,” Biden said.
